It was still so much fun to see the Mona Lisa, since it is never what you expect. While walking around the Louvre a few memories were coming back from when I had been there before. Obviously, the Louvre is one of the most famous museums in Paris since it’s the home of the Mona Lisa. After going to a nice breakfast we went early to the Louvre to make sure we could get in without waiting in a long line. My mom came into town to spend the weekend with me and I was determined not to ruin it for her. Since we had such big plans, though, I decided to try to suck it up.
My throat was throbbing… which never is good news. I had a little surprise when I woke up, though. It was fun to see but after one drink we decided to go home and get some sleep since we had big plans the next day! It was a very local bar and everyone there was French. We walked a few blocks and found a small place on the corner that was packed full. We walked in and there was about six tables but the food was delicious! It was a very traditional Parisian meal, exactly what we were looking for! After dinner we decided to try and find a bar to get a drink at.
We ended up going to a “hole-in-the-wall” place across the street.
It was truly a sight to see.Īfter walking what we thought was ten miles that day we decided to go have dinner somewhere close to the hotel. All of the men were dressed in their uniforms and were carrying the French flag. After enjoying the spectacular view, there was a ceremony for the army going on below the arc that we watched. We walked down to the Arc de Triomphe and walked to the top. It was amazing and SO relaxing… exactly what I needed before my looming midterms!Īfter the spa, though, was my favorite. hopefully my dad doesn’t see this! Then, my mom surprised us with a little treat! She had made reservations for a spa day at The Four Seasons, something I will never forget. We stopped and looked in some stores and made a few purchases. Then we crossed the bridge and walked through a park on the right bank. We walked around the left bank and stopped at another cafe for lunch. After stopping there for breakfast my mom wanted to give us a tour of the city. On Friday morning we found the cutest cafe with the BEST croissants, Cafe St. We decided to keep the night low key and just went to a little restaurant around the corner. On Thursday, we landed around 8pm and had to take a 30 minute cab ride to our hotel Hotel du Jeu de Paume on the Ile Saint Louis. I was looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend for some quite time, and got that… for a few of the days at least. My mom decided to come back and stay with me in Paris, probably because it reminds her of her good old days! She studied in Paris the summer after college and eventually became fluent, which was very lucky for me! Since I know my friend Christina from home and we are close family friends she stayed with my mom and I too. For this trip, we all went our separate ways.
